Understanding supernatural restoration and total recovery

Rhema Christian Church

And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you. And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed ~ Joel 2:25-26.

Preamble:

Supernatural restoration speaks to the heart of God’s nature as a powerful Restorer, who always desires that we recover whatever is lost, broken, or stolenin our human concerns (3John 1:2).

Ordinarily, “restoration” refers to the human process of returning something to its original or optimal state and condition, involving repairing, renewing, or replacing the thing that is damaged, deteriorated, or lost.

However, in biblical context, “supernatural restoration” is an act of God, and it always goes beyond what human beings can achieve by themselves. It invokes God’s ability to bring about divine intervention and supernatural re-creation to whatever the enemy has destroyed and to terminate shame in the midst of His people (Joel 2:25-26).

Supernatural restoration defines the direct involvement of God to compel the recovery of that which is lost or stolen, the replenishing of that which is exhausted, the renewing or reinvigorating of that which has deteriorated and the rebuilding of that which is dilapidated or destroyed in any area of our human experiences (Jeremiah 31:3-4).

Succinctly, supernatural restoration incloses reversal of losses — lost opportunities, deteriorating finances (Deuteronomy 30:9), ebbing health (Psalm 103:2-3), emotional instability (Isaiah 61:1), disoriented dreams, lost time — and years that were seemingly wasted.

However, the most important dimension of supernatural restoration is the strengthening and re-establishment of our spiritual relationship with God (Psalm 51:12). This was what Peter experienced following his denial of Jesus Christ after His sacrificial death on the Cross (John 21:15-19).

This sacred experience is sometimes called “revival” in church parlance. Revival is the bringing back to full life that which was once alive but is now dead or dying. It is an awakening to regain our lost fire, passion and zeal for the things of God (Romans 13:11).

This spiritual reawakening generally reignites growth and spiritual fervency, occasioning full recovery of lost spiritual gifts, fervor in prayer, fasting, soul-winning and an ardent in-depth study of God’s Word.

Real revival is a sovereign act of God, and it’s the Holy Ghost that promotes it. Nevertheless, we must play our role well in crying earnestly for it with the “burden of Habakkuk” in our hearts so as to experience it in our lives and times (Habakkuk 3:2).

Please keep in mind always that supernatural restoration is more than just recovering what is lost; it’s about staying in God’s presence whereby He continually renews and restores our souls (Psalms 23:1-4).

Understanding God's Power In Seven-fold Restoration

There is nothing to fear, no matter what is missing, as long as God is not missing out in our lives. Whenever He manifests His power, wisdom and love, or demonstratesHis sovereignty, grace and glory, there is hope for supernatural restoration, and things can only get better for us.

No situation or circumstance is beyond God's ability to turn around. Whatever the enemy meant for your destruction can even bounce back with heavy praise, and announce your destiny, globally (Psalms 138:7).

The Bible is replete with infallible proofs of supernatural restoration. For instance, by God’s help, Saul found his father’s asses that were lost (1Samuel 10:1-7). And, after a devastating invasion and losses, David recovered all that the Amalekites stole from him when they invaded Ziklag (1Samuel 30:1-19). The children of Israel also experienced a fearful restoration after about 430 years of agonizing slavery in Egypt.

Again, Jesus Christ rejuvenated the marital celebration in Cana of Galilee by turning water to wine when wine finished (John 2:7-10). And Lazarus, who even died, was brought back to life after four days in the real abyss of death.

Meanwhile, more often than not, supernatural restoration empowers a return to a state better than the original formbefore the damage, loss or decline. It’s a complete recreation with a renewal of purpose and function, providing a better version of what was lost and filling it with blessings and favour.
Job lost everything — his wealth, family, friends and health. But when God returned unto him, He gave him twice as much as he had before (Job 42:10-12). The prodigal son was also restored, not only to his former position after he had squandered his inheritance, but to a better position. He received a robe, a ring, and a big feast(Luke 15:11-24). And, the wine that Jesus Christ supernaturally provided at the marriage feast in Cana of Galilee was certainly a better one. No wonder, the offers of the New Testament are much better than those of the Old (Hebrews 8:6; 12:24).

Indeed, God’s age-long plan is to compel a seven-fold restoration of whatever is stolen from you. Yes, the thief that steals, kills and destroys is now identified (John 10:10)! He’s Satan, the defeated foe, and he must return seven-fold everything he stole from your destiny, in Jesus’ name (Proverbs 6:31)!

Covenant Keys To Supernatural Restoration

Discovery is the starting point of recovery; until you discover, you may never recover. If you don’t know what you’re looking for, be certain that you already got it: anything!

Discover who you are in God’s eyes, and walk yourself through to it by the help of the Holy Spirit. Identify what is missing in your life and where you missed it, crying to God for supernatural assistance and total recovery (1Samuel 9:3).

A sound revelation of God’s Word is a major key here! Supernatural light is key to supernatural discovery. In Luke 15:8-9, the story is told of a woman who lost her coin and diligently searched for it, finding it with the help of a candle.

Please lighten your “candle”, to know what God has promised you and what to doabout it (Proverbs 20:27). Search diligently for it.

In this regard, persistent prayers and fervent enquiries are inevitable. When faced with losses, David inquired of the Lord, and he got both the divine nod and the direction he needed for total recovery.

Nonetheless, where need be, repent and realign your heart with God’s will, seeking His face earnestly in order to enjoy supernatural restoration (Joel 2:12-18). Stay connected with Him through genuine worship, prayer and meditation on His Word.

Regularly speak God’s promises over your life (Proverbs 18:21). It will take nothing less than faith, praise and prayer to generate a powerful force to overcome the obstacles of supernatural recovery.

Whenever God restores, He simultaneously removes the shame associated with loss and failure, and replaces it with honour and glory. And when supernatural restoration has taken its full course, there will be supernatural satisfaction, multiplication, joy and celebration.

Friends and brethren, encourage yourself to seek God's intervention in whatever areas of your life that have experienced losses, and believe Him for glorious restoration. The same God who restored Job, the Prodigal Son and David to their better estates is alive! He will reverse your losses, and return whatever the enemies stole from you.

He will also revitalize, reenergize and reinvigorate your spirit-man and, by His gracious arm of intervention and re-creation, you shall experience a deluge of blessings and spiritual turnaround. You won’t miss it, in Jesus name. Amen. Happy Sunday!
